YOGA

There are some great benefits to practising vinyasa yoga during pregnancy and during the postpartum. Vinyasa yoga helps to improve cardio fitness, improves your stability, strength and flexibility.

By focusing on breathing in conjunction with movements throughout the duration of a practice, the central nervous system enters a more elevated state of calm. Thereby reducing stress and anxiety, and leaving us feeling more peaceful and at ease. This state is particularly useful for busy mums, often juggling family life with work commitments.

Practising yoga during pregnancy and in the postpartum period can help reduce the aches and pains often experienced with the changing body shape and growth, can help balance the body and hormones, and help strengthen and tone important pelvic floor muscles. The combination of flow and sedentary poses challenge the body and increases circulation.

Practising vinyasa yoga also elevates your energy levels and boosts your mood. Raising a family can be busy and stressful but taking time to practice yoga, even 5 minutes a day, can have great benefits for both the expectant mother and the non-pregnant woman, for our minds, our bodies and our overall health.

No experience necessary for either class!
