ART THERAPY

3 year old to adult

What is Art Therapy?

Sometimes words are hard to find. In these situations Art Therapy can help to make sense of the world and give expression to experiences through different creative processes. These processes include drawing, painting, clay work, sand play, collage, dance & movement or voice work and are guided by the Art Therapist.

Its focus is not diagnosis. It allows issues to emerge through creativity, in a safe, non-threatening and supported way. It can be one to one with the Therapist or in groups or families.

It builds self-awareness and can help in the development of coping strategies for the stresses and anxieties in life which may be preventing us from living well.

It can be used to explore our emotions and help us understand the impact they have on how we live and the choices we make.

Why?

Creative expression provides opportunities for self-exploration, building capacity, deepening understandings of self and others, acceptance and healing.

Art Therapy is utilised as a vehicle to help explore emotional experiences, increase calm, provide moments of mindfulness and self-care, and to assist in creating the pathways leading to a balanced, fulfilling and integrated way of being in the world.

Anyone can use art therapy. No art expertise is required and it is adaptable to each individual.

Trish or Gabrielle would love to work with you or your child!
